Attack of the Phobia

No matter how trivial or irrational it may seem to others, in the grip of fear you can feel paralysed, completely helpless, even by a small spider or the thought of going in a lift. Why do I get so frightened?

In the back of your mind, you know that you’re bigger than the spider, that the clown is just a person like any other, and that nothing untoward will happen when it gets dark, so you might wonder why you have phobias in the first place. Most phobias begin as a healthy dislike, and then become amplified because of factors such as stress, negative childhood associations. Once anxiety enters the equation, your brain will respond by activating the ‘fight or flight response’ that it uses when you’re in danger, not realising that although the phobia scares you, it cannot hurt you.

Relationships and removing limiting beliefs about money

I cannot put into words what a difference this has made to my life. I was feeling extremely anxious and the therapy that Maria has given me has helped tremendously.
